A new site for a local peak district village Baslow is causing a stir on the internet by local company Peak District Online , whose aim in 2011 is to have 135 village sites live.
The goal of the project masterminded by the local web company with full support of the local tourist industry is to raise awareness in local communities that they can once again build a community spirit sadly lost over many years , but this time online! With the progress of the technologies needed and the access now to fast broadband it really has opened up a whole new world for people living in small peak district villages .
Peak District Online aims at bringing all the villages together including Baslow to create a virtual peak district , with information and news at all levels coming into the local sites , but more importantly that information and news comes OUT of the village websites and gets heard on a local and national level by the villagers themselves, armed with new technology developed by peak District Online to allow this to be very easy for non technical people.
